Fried, Frenzied and Foiled: Printing with Hot Stamped Foil

Instructor: Sophie Isaak

Date/time:  Saturday, June 24, 10a-5p

Cost: $88

Description: If you can dream it, you can foil it. Foil is an amazing, transformative medium that can be applied to just about anything. In this day-long workshop we will experiment with various methods of preparing surfaces to foil on, using both screenprinting and painting with clear, acrylic polymer. After preparing our surfaces, either 2D or 3D, we will begin the foiling! Using the world-renowned Iowa Foil Printer, as well as hand methods, we will play with applying beautiful and luminous foils to our prints. Foil is a truly magical process that can be combined with various other print or drawn mediums. So, bring your old prints, bring your photographs, bring your drawings, bring your pets and loved ones—and we will foil them all!

Prerequisite/skill level: Beginner/Intermediate—No Experience Necessary

Age group: 15+
