Description: This workshop is for writers, artists, and others interested in using the Vandercook press to print their own chapbooks, pamphlets, or artist's books. As a group, we will review the basics of using and caring for the Vandercook and go through the process of editioning a letterpress pamphlet, including paper selection, making a mock-up and printing plan, imposition, and simple binding options. After making our own mock-ups, each participant will schedule a private session with the instructor to work on their individual project. Participants should come to the workshop with a developed idea of the content that they would like to create for their book, using metal type, photopolymer plates, or linoleum blocks.
